Heather D. Drake gave up her life long dream of becoming a circus performer (she was torn between life as a trapeze artist or as a clown) to follow a more sensible career as a freelance illustrator and designer.

When not riding dolphins, she can be found illustrating books, designing textiles, toys, and packaging, and not missing her days as a medical illustrator. Clients include North American Bear Company, Fischer-Price, Children's Television Workshop, The New York Times, and Premier.

Sometimes, she just likes to have fun.
